Ashley Rhodes is an indie folk singer/songwriter and rock guitarist with a sound that has been described as honest, clear, and enchanting. She grew up on the seacoast of New Hampshire and began her music journey by taking guitar lessons at the age of 15. Not long after first picking up a guitar, she began writing her own songs. Ashley joined her high school jazz band during her senior year on electric guitar. In 2004, the group performed at the Clark Terry Jazz Festival where Ashley received an “Outstanding Musicianship” award.
After high school, Ashley attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Songwriting (‘08). She chose guitar as her primary instrument while at Berklee and fulfilled electives by taking several guitar labs in the blues/rock and classic rock genres.

Ashley cut her teeth as a performer playing in several rock bands based in the Boston area. Past projects include: Hevy Sol, The Afterparty, Yes Commander, Lockette, Boston One Night Band, and Sorry Mister. She has performed on many of Boston’s iconic stages: The Sinclair, ONCE Ballroom, T.T. the Bear’s Place, The Middle East (both upstairs and downstairs), The Burren, O’Brien’s Pub, The Cantab, and several more.
After nearly 20 years of fronting and backing Boston-based rock bands (and after the COVID pandemic forever changed the world), Ashley moved to central Massachusetts and returned to her roots as an acoustic singer-songwriter. She launched her first crowdfunding campaign in 2023 and used the funds to record her debut solo EP Unravel, released January 11, 2024. The record features stripped down arrangements of voice, guitar, accordion and piano. A streaming link to the EP is available on the Composer section of this website.
